Once again, taking a que in the action department. I had dared myself to finish an AMV in time for Anime LA, and couldn't come up with a decent idea. Plenty I wanted to do, but just not enough time. So what did I end up doing? Why, the first AMV I've ever made to a series I never even saw! I mean, my friends all enjoyed Index and Railgun, and I saw a few episodes here and there, but never the whole series. It was a challenge not knowing what clips and scenes I could use, but it was also fun being free of any preconceptions and just let the creativity flow.
I thought I captured the story pretty well... at least the first half of the series, anyway. Everything after the battle with Accelerator looked like filler to me and had barely any action in it. Something tells me I should have stuck with Railgun instead, but eh, what can you do?

Now this is more like it. Action, adrenaline and suspense all over a children's card game - you gotta love it! I've been a die-hard Yu Gi Oh fan for years and I've always wanted to pay tribute to it. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to make the dream AMV I've always wanted to make, since the deadline for Anime Los Angeles 2010 was only a few weeks away (notice a patterns here of me waiting until the last minute). So instead, I decided to try a different route and focus it on the story surrounding the movie. Yeah, I know, it sucked, but it had all the right elements: Kaiba and Yugi, the God monsters, and even Transformers! Just a fun video to make up for the slower videos that were starting to depress me all over again.
Maybe someday I'll get to that dream Yu Gi Oh tribute. GX and 5D's ain't got nothing on the OG classic, baby!

So this one is a little different. I wanted to try my hand at yet another drama video in time for Anime Expo. I really had a lapse in creativity at the time, so I ended up doing yet another love-triangle themed video. I love the series, and I thought it came out alright, but something about this video is a little off. It kind of gets lost in a sea of endless drama videos already out there, and I just don't feel like I executed it as well as I thought I did in my own mind. I think I was going through a bit of a depressed emo period, which explains how heavy it is. Don't know what I was thinking, lol. Its still solid, I think, but nothing groundbreaking.
A few people seem to like it, and that's all that matters to me. Maybe you will too.

"Torn Memories"
Anime: Welcome to the NHK!
Music: Linkin Park - "Leave out all the Rest"
Released: January 2009

This here is part 2 of the Linkin Park sister videos. This time, I wanted to tone it down a little and try something different. As my first drama video, I wanted it to reflect some conflicting feelings and thoughts I had due to a similar real life situation involving myself and two other women. Do yourself a favor and *never* let yourself get into that mess. You thank me later, trust me.
I am quite proud how I took what was more of a deeper, psychological story about failure, betrayal, and a bit of romantic comedy and turned it into something a little more realistic, straightforward, and something that anyone who has been in a relationship before can relate to. Its one of my most favorite AMVs I've made to date, and the one I'm most proud of. Hope you like it.

Two weeks left until Anime Los Angeles 2009, and I had *NO* idea what I should do. Somehow, I got a jolt of inspiration at around 2:30 in the morning on a Saturday and two ideas hit me. This is the first of those ideas, which just seemed so awesome to me - using the characters of BECK to the music of Linkin Park as though it were their own song. BRILLIANT! Yes, I actually yelled out "brilliant" to myself and nearly woke up the entire neighborhood in the process xD.
This one was just plain fun. No real story to follow, to planned out timeline of events, just some good old fashioned rockin' out with only my second attempt at lip synching. Thought I did a pretty good job with it, too. I say second because before this, I had attempted to make a now-lost Outlaw Star music video, and I had synced up the words of Amy Lee's "My Immortal" to Melfina when she sang her song. Yeah.... it died with the last AMV in that same hard drive crash. Probably best it did ;). Anyway, enjoy.

My next AMV, or the second for those keeping track, was definitely more complicated to make than the first. I had intended to show it at Anime Los Angeles 2007, but due to some hard drive troubles in my old laptop, I lost a good chunk of it. Disgruntled, I put it off literally for a year until the following year, when I decided to suck it up and try again. Boy am I glad I did. Ended up redoing most of it, fixing the timing up and completely replaced the ending. I'm ultimately thrilled with how it turned out. "Fate" continues to be one of my top 10 most favorite series... right up until Unlimited Blade Works came out. A bit of foreshadowing for the future, perhaps? ;)

My first anime music video ever. I was inspired to do this video after attending Anime Los Angeles in 2005, the first year it was ever held, and turned out to be the first anime convention I ever attended. That's a lot of firsts! Anyway, Kannazuki no Miko is a weird little hodgepodge of anime themes and cliqués that rolls in SciFi, mechs, schoolgirls, magic, priestesses, selfless, self-sacrificing heroes and forbidden love all rolled into one. Seems only myself in a bunch of other 14 year old girls ever heard about it, but I liked it, so whatever. Its my first, it still looks awesome so many years later, and it led me down this path I've chosen of video editing and content creation. We all have to start somewhere.
